As the tradition says, the journey of the olympic flame started in Olimpia (Greece) on the 13 th of July in 1976. From there, people trasported the flame to Athens and later, with the help of a satellite signal, the fire of the olympic flame was trasported to Ottawa.
From here, the olympic flame started a tour that finished in the Canadian city of Montreal (the host city of the Olympic Games) the day of the opening ceremony, on the 17 th of July in 1976.
1214 relay runners ran 775 kilometres with the olympic flame to put it in the Olympic Stadium of Montreal. It was a very hard work!
